Associate News Producer - Weekends

Our news team is looking for a Weekend Associate News Producer.  This role is two-fold;  you'll be responsible for handling News Desk duties and producing Public Affairs programs. This involves monitoring news events and being prepared to respond to breaking news, whether on a national or local level.  It also involves making posts and updates on our news pages and news-related social media channels (Facebook & Twitter).

This is primarily a weekend position, however occasional fill in during the week may be necessary.

This is a Part Time, On-site position to be located at our headquarters in Rocklin, CA. 

Shift Hours: 

Rotating weekend hours

2 - 3, six-hour shifts per week (12 - 18 hours/week)

Some weekday fill-ins, as needed

Although this is a junior level position, we still expect that candidates will have basic broadcast news experience/education and hands on experience using Adobe Audition or comparable tools. 

Here's what we are looking for:

• 1-2 years related experience in the Broadcast News Industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to research public affairs assignment topics, conduct interviews, and assemble into program segments.
• Strong computer & social media skills.  Photoshop a plus. 
• Radio presentation voice a plus.
• Experience using Adobe Audition or equivalent desktop audio editors.
