They are on the road a lot, working tirelessly, in remote locations, facing challenges in weather & terrain to make sure that our broadcast facilities are up and running.

Responsibilities

As a Field Engineer, here's what you will be doing...

 

You'll be responsible for the signals within our Arizona/New Mexico region.  Evaluating the overall technical operation of our facilities within that region, and take corrective action as needed, to ensure equipment is functioning.

 

This involves...

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing broadcast equipment (i.e.audio processors,  mixers, etc.).
  • Installing and maintaining microwave & satellite equipment.
  • Analyzing and fixing technical faults on equipment and systems to the module level.
  • Partner with contract engineers to resolve technical problems. 
  • Occasionally, carry out work on non-broadcast equipment (i.e. generators, air conditioning, light fixtures,  etc.) as conditions dictate.
  • Making trips to sites to perform installations or repairs; and EMF headquarters for training or special projects. The length of these trips varies depending on the specific needs.
  • If assigned, serve as Chief Operator/Engineer for one or more broadcast station(s).

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, here's what you'll need....

  • 2+ years experience troubleshooting and repairing radio broadcast equipment
  • Good understanding of the components necessary in a broadcast air-chain
  • Understanding of satellite technology
  • Understanding of radio frequency emissions
  • Knowledge of applicable, broadcast-related FCC rules and regulations
  • Proficiency using standard broadcast test equipment, such as VOMs, oscilloscopes, and RF spectrum analyzers.
  • SBE Certification highly desirable
  • Candidates currently residing in the Phoenix area preferred.
  • Our Field Engineers are on the road about 75% of the time, so the ability to travel is crucial.

 

Employment Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment background & reference check.
  • Must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the US.
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and an acceptable motor vehicle report.
