    This position will allow you to explore and fulfill the full range of your skills - from routine FCC filings, to resolving interference, to helping K-LOVE and Air1 expand to new areas!


    In a nutshell, our FCC Compliance Engineer will partner with others on our team to ensure K-LOVE & Air1 programming is broadcast successfully and to the highest level of quality through pro-actively evaluating and responding to radio frequency challenges faced by EMF, including propagation analysis and improvement, interference resolution, and routine FCC document preparation and review





    A few responsibilities would include...


    • Provide practical responses and clarity to FCC Rule questions, occasionally interacting with FCC Attorneys or FCC personnel.
    • Prepare, review and/or submit FCC filings, particularly Forms 301, 302, 335, 349, and 350.
    • Work with peers to analyze and resolve interference complaints to or from translator, station, FAA, or cellular systems, including computer-based analysis of potential causes and solutions. Maintains regular, communication with involved parties. Coordinates with EMF and FCC attorneys for any necessary filings.
    • Manage technical and Radio Frequency portions of octennial FCC license renewals, performing all necessary research, analysis, and calculations in collaboration with Engineering and FCC Compliance teams.
    • Analyze and make recommendations toward optimizing signal coverage.


    Here's what we're looking for...


    • Experience filling FCC applications.  Lots of them.
    • Advanced understanding of Parts 1, 11, 73, and 74 of the FCC rules.
    • Experience with FM propagation software such as Comstudy 2.2 or V-Soft Probe 4 for signal and interference analysis (AM experience a plus).
    • Advanced understanding of RF propagation and the impact of obstacles, weather conditions, etc. with emphasis on FM frequencies.
    • Excellent understanding and history of predicting and resolving intermodulation interference.
    • Detail orientation ensuring high accuracy in legal opinions and filings.
    • History of complying with FCC rules.


    Employment Requirements

    • Must pass a pre-employment reference screen and background check.
    • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
