  • Overview

    As Applications Development Manager, you will lead & manage our application development team in the execution of development projects. These projects are primarily internal web development projects but may also include native application development.


    The main areas that you'll be responsible for include: 


    Organizational Leadership - Proactively influence our culture, leading by example in demonstrating collaboration, empowerment, innovation, creativity and service, while being a faithful witness on and off the job of EMF’s mission.


    Strategic PlanningParticipate in action planning and implementation for software development and architecture with a focus on meeting goals using small projects, meeting time lines, managing budgets, communication, results tracking, and celebration.


    Day-To-Day LeadershipWork closely with ministry leaders to execute the technical goals across EMF properties, including but not limited to websites (internal and external) and native applications.


    Talent & Leadership Development - Provide leadership, mentoring and developing a highly competent and responsive software development team, ensuring alignment of goals and ministry initiatives with EMF’s mission. Foster a learning environment where training, risk management, operational best practices, and biblical values go hand in hand with creative and entrepreneurial solutions that best fulfill the ministry’s mission.




    In a nutshell, we're looking for a former developer who has risen into a leadership role.

    Someone who knows technology, and is passionate about developing and building up people. 

    Someone with a natural curiosity for and openness to new technologies. 


    Is this you?


    Here's a little more about what we're looking for....

    • 5-7 years of software, web, and application development.
    • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role (technical lead, supervisor or manager).
    • Deep working knowledge of C# or Ruby/Rails.  Xamarin a plus.
    • Deep working knowledge of software architecture techniques and implementations (e.g. REST, MVC).
    • Possess a collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. 
    • Positive “can do” attitude and willingness to jump in and learn new things in a matrixed technical environment.
    • Natural curiosity for new languages, frameworks, technologies & techniques.
