  • Overview

     

    The Engineering Associate Project Manager supports the Director of Engineering with the research, development and evaluation of ministry projects to improve engineering operations. This role works within the engineering department, collaborates cross-functionally across departments, and with manufactures.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess engineering project performance against goals and plans. Identify and initiate process improvements based on operational analysis, research, projections, cost identification and allocation, and resource analysis.
    • Serve as the point person in the design, implementation and management of programs to ensure accurate data sharing for the Engineering department and other stakeholders throughout the network.
    • Ensure processes are detailed and executable to result in more reliable signals, quicker repairs, and accurate signal history tracking.
    • Monitor day-to-day issues and related resolutions; track and ensure the accuracy of the data recorded for each signal; hold site staff accountable for accuracy and completeness of required information entered into database(s) related to EMF-owned towers and assets at each location.
    • Monitor annual inspections, calibrations, problems with equipment, and suggest solutions based on subject matter expertise to resolve or reduce problems and ensure solutions are achieved.
    • Manage Maintenance Project Management System as the interface between EMF and the software companies when it comes to software improvement to meet the growing needs of the department.
    • Review data from various sources; develop systems and moderately complex databases and/or spreadsheets (charts, graphs, analysis from multiple sources) that consistently keep accurate record of needed information such as: project expenses, merchandise purchases, personnel expenditures (reimbursements and time keeping), budget tracking, and other items..
    • Negotiate vendor pricing and budgets for department projects.

    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
    • SBE Radio Operator Certification preferred.
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability clearly communicate technical issues in an understandable way. Minimum 3 years of experience in software and project management.
    • Minimum 5 years of general office work experience and prior supervisory experience required.
    • Demonstrated experience monitoring and tracking complex projects using databases and spreadsheets.
    • Strong computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio). Ability to create graphs, charts, complex analysis within multiple systems, data parsing, and presentations.
    • Possess a collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality.
