Overview

We are looking for a Sr. Cinematographer with a passion for faith-driven narratives to help us create compelling content for EMF brands and products. You'll be the driving force behind our visual storytelling and guarding excellence in lighting, cinematography, and grip & electric (G&E).

 

From gear management to post-production, your role will be diverse, impactful, and a labor of love. Beyond the set, your expertise in lighting and camera solutions will be invaluable from project development to execution, acting liaison between crew and Producer/Director, and enhancing composition and color in post-production.

 

Here's some experience we are seeking:

  • Experienced in Video Production, Design, Media Arts, Communications, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of professional experience in film and/or TV industry and video production industry, preferred.
  • Deep working knowledge in one or more of the core areas listed below and knowledgeable across all film production related disciplines including:
    • Production best practices
    • Ability to speak the “lingo” of modern Video Production
    • Ability to meticulously refine or re-invent the way a story is being conveyed cinematically
    • Knowledge of latest techniques with a passion for filming
  • Experienced cinematographer, one who is capable and knowledgeable with the equipment currently in use
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management Tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Wrike).
  • Deep understanding of established and emerging trends in content consumption and audience habits.
  • Exemplary organizational skills and the ability to serve multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Attention to creative and technical details, comfortable with multi-tasking, willingness to take ownership of team projects and picture the end-product during pre-production phase.
  • Ability to effectively transmit ideas, work independently, and as a team leader, present self in a highly professional manner, instilling confidence and trust within the team.
  • Possesses creativity, flexibility, and an enthusiasm with a willingness to jump in and learn new things in a fast-paced environment.

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…

 

Gear Management:

  • Operate and maintain all camera, grip, and electric gear.
  • Allocate, order, and verify gear rentals.
  • Facilitate shipping and transport of gear on and off-site.

Leadership:

  • Offer input and ideas that elevate concepts and level up Video Production
  • Confidently lead crews through production.
  • Effectively collaborate with Producer/Director to lead production builds.
  • Intuitively know steps of production and when to deploy gear, lighting design, and production development meetings.
  • Take an active role in mentoring/teaching producers and crew standard set and cinematography practices that elevate EMF production
  • Stay up to date with modern trends in shot lists, lighting plots, and all other elements to lead and guide the company to world-class cinematography standards. 

Preproduction:

  • Work with Producer/Director to accomplish the visual goal of the project.
  • Create shot lists, camera and lighting plots, and any other relevant pre-production documents.
  • Lead location scouts, evaluate set safety, and build out rental lists.
  • Select, order, pack, and prep gear.

Production:

  • Setup and operate gear including; cameras, lights, grip and electric equipment.
  • Lead crews on set from set up to strike
  • Work to ensure production aligns with vision.Post-production:
    • Review footage with Heads of Department to support edit as needed
    • Off load media to MAM team member or ensure completed by crew member.
    • Represent camera department in project debrief.
    • Own the return of gear and restoration of studio to ‘studio neutral’ in partnership with crew.
