Overview

We are now hiring for a Sr. Manager of Business Operations Services (BizOps) – this team is the strategic powerhouse behind our ministry's success! Guided by the Director of Strategy & Corporate Development, you'll utilize your leadership skills to implement and operationalize our game-changing strategy. Collaborating across departments, you'll spearhead corporate initiatives, streamline operations, and support vital ministry projects.

 

Leading the brilliant BizOps team, you’ll be managing workloads like a pro, and cultivating relationships with both stakeholders and ministry leaders. Armed with your in-depth knowledge of our strategy, business landscape, and technical requirements, you'll bridge the gap between ambitious goals and cutting-edge technology to help propel our ministry forward.

 

This role is 100% on-site at our Franklin, TN facility.

 

We are looking for a very specific skill set and business acumen. Here's some experience we are seeking:

  • 10+ years of experience working in a Project Manager, Business Analysis, or Business Process Management role with a solid track record of project success.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of related disciplines of strategic planning, change management, risk management, project management, business analysis, business process management, and business architecture.
  • Extensive experience in one or more of the following and deep working knowledge of the others:
    • Project Management Life Cycle methodologies (e.g., PMI PMBOK)
    • Business Analysis Methodology (e.g., Business Rules Approach)
    • Business Process methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ITIL, or Value Stream Analysis) and Notation (e.g., BPMN)
    • Business Architecture Methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Archimate, or Zachman)
    • Industry Standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Extensive experience successfully planning, organizing, leading, directing, and managing enterprise-wide initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships. Exhibit emotional intelligence; knows own strengths and weaknesses and can recognize strengths and weaknesses in others to be able to motivate them to do their best.
  • Possess excellent written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate with leadership, business, and technical staff.
  • Proven ability to use leadership, influence, and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage the direction of projects to successful completion with measurable results.
  • Employ a collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Must be a team player and leader.
  • Persuasive and patient manner with the demonstrated ability to “bring calm to chaos”.
  • Excellent technical documenting skills; particularly with using Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and cloud- based collaboration tools.
  • Exercise judgment and business/ministry acumen in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.  Decisions and solutions may impact current/future design and strategy of ministry offerings, technologies, and/or operational practices.

 

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily

  • Sets long-term planning and vision, expands concepts and practices, and develops standards for the BizOps department and each of the Centers of Excellence of Project Management, Business Analysis, Business Process Management, Business Architecture, and Ministry Operational Process Management.
  • Partners with the Director of Strategy & Corporate Development to implement and operationalize the strategy for the ministry by bridging the gap between strategy, implementation, and operations; to identify, establish, implement, and monitor the highest value strategic initiatives, programs, and projects.Partners with all Ministry Leaders to support the Ministry Leadership Team and Business Sponsors with the implementation of approved corporate and department goals, initiatives, and projects.
  • Links the business strategy to operations using a capability-based planning approach across people, process, information, and technology and establishes the resources needed to achieve the desired results.
  • Demonstrates an ability to view programs and projects through holistic ministry-wide connections; applies foresight when connecting concepts to enterprise components.
  • Implements development and training programs that build results and relationship skills, ensuring a high-performance team.
  • Works closely with the senior-level team members in BizOps to continually enhance, improve and put into practice the best delivery of each BizOps Center of Excellence for the ministry to effectively and efficiently implement solutions that deliver business value. 
  • Ensures each BizOps Center of Excellence supports organizational change by defining scope, recommending solutions, and supporting the implementation of corporate and department goals, initiatives, and projects.
  • Leads, mentors, and serves BizOps team members to remove roadblocks, manage workload, and guide them on the path towards their career goals; serves as a role model by demonstrating the ministry’s core values.
  • Develops and communicates clear performance expectations; monitors and observes performance of direct reports and provides clear and timely feedback.
  • Uses leadership, relationship building, and influencing skills to effectively manage the direction of approved corporate and department goals, initiatives, and projects to successful completion; drives change through facilitating collaboration and improved communication.
  • Manages stakeholder expectations across key program and project constraints including budget, time, quality, resources, and scope.
  • Uses appropriate communication techniques based on the audience to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Identifies, assesses, and recommends innovative solutions that improve ministry operations and the ability to serve our customers.
