As a procurement buyer, you'll spearhead the creation, evaluation, and fulfillment of purchase orders, all while upholding our values of integrity and excellence.

This role will be on-site at our Franklin, TN offices.

 

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…

 

  • Develop professional relationships with vendors and suppliers and make contact for quotations and follow-up on outstanding purchase orders.
  • Coordinate purchasing details with the vendor and requesting department including pricing revisions, order cancellations, invoice discrepancies, and delivery schedules.
  • Generate and place purchase orders for Engineering Rack builds.
  • Responsible for Inventory Management such as: maintain shop inventory levels, forecasting and consumption rate, work with Shop & Operations Teams to complete inventory forecasting and stay “ahead of the curve”.
  • Work with Warehouse Team to ensure items are received and processed accordingly.
  • Communicate back orders and delays to the requestor.
  • Obtains Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for Field Technicians as required.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with staff, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Assure accurate pricing, general ledger coding, and the timely process of purchase orders.
  • Maintain vendor files and records of materials, prices, inventories, and deliveries.
  • Analyze and recommend process improvements to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and accuracy within the purchasing system.
  • Partner with department representatives in determining purchasing needs. Provide training and coaching on the utilization of purchasing systems and processes.
  • Maintain professional competency, knowledge, and skills necessary to effectively lead and perform job duties by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training.
  • Train internal and external partners on EMF Procurement tools and requirements.
  • Cross-train with all Buyers and serve as a backup, as needed.
  • Lead and complete assigned Procurement projects.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from college or technical school in communications, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional project management experience within the broadcast construction or telecommunications industry with direct responsibility for procurement, project plan origination and timeline administration and project lifecycle management and reporting for complex, multi-phase construction projects.
  • Extensive experience working with NetSuite Oracle – Procurement Module.
  • Proficient with Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Navigation).
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to demonstrate a calm presence in high pressure situations.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for our mission and values.
