Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist at EMF actively supports ministry endeavors by ensuring adherence to employment policies and practices while maintaining a deep understanding of technical processes and equipment. Quality Assurance Specialists are instrumental in advocating for product quality, security, and performance enhancements. They collaborate with stakeholders, utilizing automation to operate at scale in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Consistently demonstrating and achieving commitments to teammates and internal customers, those in this role embody technical and relational skills, a dedication to training and growth, and a heartfelt alignment with ministry values.

 

Here's some of what you will be doing:

  • Lead and coordinate testing efforts for complex projects, providing strategic input.
  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced automated testing frameworks.
  • Evaluate emerging testing tools and technologies, making recommendations for adoption.
  • Exhibit exceptional leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices in quality assurance.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies for large-scale initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to establish and enforce QA standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies for mitigating testing-related risks.
  • Play a key role in shaping the overall QA strategy and vision for the ministry's technology initiatives.
  • Implement and optimize test automation frameworks for efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead initiatives for the evaluation and adoption of new testing methodologies and tools.
  • Analyze and optimize the QA process for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assist in creating, managing, and prioritizing work via the team's work management tools (e.g., Kanban board)

Here's some experience we are seeking: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • 5+ years, has practical experience and expertise in multiple domains.
  • Ability to read and understand C# and JavaScript code.
  • Leadership in coordinating testing efforts for complex projects.
  • Design and maintenance of advanced automated testing frameworks.
  • Evaluation and recommendation of emerging testing tools and technologies.
  • Leading efforts to establish and enforce QA standards and guidelines.
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing strategies for mitigating testing-related risks.
  • Shaping the overall QA strategy and vision for the ministry's technology initiatives.
