Our team is seeking a skilled communicator and creative thinker to join us in supporting our mission-driven initiatives. As an Engagement Communications Coordinator and vital member of our Donor Engagement team, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting compelling narratives, designing captivating visuals, and fostering meaningful connections with our valued supporters.

In this role, you'll dive into a dynamic array of tasks, from writing and editing engaging content to designing eye-catching assets that resonate with our diverse audience. Whether you're collaborating with team members to collect and share powerful donor stories or meticulously crafting copy for event invitations and impact reports, your work will directly contribute to showcasing the transformative impact of donor support.

 

Here's some of what you will be doing:

  • Assist with writing, editing, and designing a variety of assets to support our Donor Services, Donor Outreach, Donor Events, Donor Relations, and Campaign Management teams, as well as content for the EMF staff at large and donors at all giving levels.
  • Collaborate closely with Donor Engagement team members; collect donor stories and testimonies; using the testimonies that our listeners/donors share via email, pledge drives, websites, etc. to inspire others and to show how donor support is changing lives in real and tangible ways. Write relational and creative copy.
  • Contribute to the creative process when it comes to videos, scripting, event invitations, impact and endowment reporting. Design visual assets such as event invitations, flyers, forms, etc.
  • Create and layout monthly statement copy for K-LOVE and Air1 donors.
  • Customize, write, process, and track gift acknowledgement letters.
  • Oversee studio tours – schedule tours, update content for the tours, train the guides, and host group tours through our facility.
  • Contribute to and stay on track with annual content calendars and project-specific timelines.
  • Collect and present information to the Donor Engagement team. Research and summarize project impact, present response summaries and event recaps.
  • Create, implement, and document processes; analyze and suggest improvements.

 

Here's some experience we are seeking: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Writing, Journalism or relevant experience. 
  • Must have demonstrated written English communication skills including strong editing skills, with expertise in spelling and grammar. Writing skillfully with an ability to adapt writing to varying reading and writing levels is necessary. 
  • Role requires 3-5 writing samples published or unpublished.
  • Copyediting/proofreading skills with sharp attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are required.
  • Graphic design experience is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to learn, design programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva is desired.
  • Role requires the ability to self-manage, to track work progress, and to work efficiently without direction and instruction.
  • Ability to adjust from working independently into a team work situation.
  • Ability to adapt to changes that occur ministry-wide and interdepartmentally.
  • Ability to establish priorities and handle various tasks simultaneously; perform job under pressure or in critical situations while achieving and accomplishing work load set by leader. Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to start and complete assignments without specific directions; recognize problems and apply or suggest viable creative solutions; engage in professional growth activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships necessary.
