Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Total Rewards, the Compensation & Benefits Analyst II is responsible for administering compensation programs, analyzing compensation data, and ensuring our compensation practices are competitive and equitable. This position serves as a key influencer within the Human Resources team as well as a strategic partner within the ministry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of compensation principles.

This role will be at our new Franklin, TN Headquarters

 

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…

 

  • Administer and maintain compensation programs, including salary structures, role evaluations, and market pricing.
  • Conduct external market research and internal ministry analysis to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.
  • Perform bi-annual ministry-wide compensation study for all staff and executive roles. Participate in salary surveys and analyze survey data to benchmark Ministry’s compensation against market trends.
  • Develop partnership with third party-vendors used for the compensation studies. Establish, maintain, and review current agreements with these vendors.
  • Evaluate and classify jobs using established methodologies and frameworks.
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions for each position in the ministry; ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed.
  • Partner with Team Leaders to gather and document position, organizational structure, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each role.
  • Maintain and track job codes and budget for each position within the departments to ensure accuracy and consistency across the Ministry.
  • Assess positions and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or non-exempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations, Finance, and Ministry leaders to align job classifications with Ministry goals.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to provide updated job descriptions and compensation analysis for open positions to aid in the recruitment process.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret HR and compensation data to support decision-making and strategy development.
  • Develop and maintain compensation databases and tools to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations for Ministry Leadership.
  • Provide guidance and support to Team Members and Leadership regarding compensation-related inquiries and issues.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on compensation topics as needed.
  • Conduct focus groups to collect employee feedback on specific issues or topics related to benefits and compensation.
  • Research employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings, recommend changes or updates to the ministry’s existing benefits or policies.
  • Ensure benefits and compensation practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Generate, prepare, and file required compliance documentation.
  • Conduct audits by utilizing HRIS and other tools to manage data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of information.
  • Advise Leadership on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits, and compensation policies, and human resource procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compensation and benefit policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting compensation and benefits.
  • Serves as the main liaison with HRIS system and evaluation system for performance reviews. Responsible for set-up, implementation, tracking, and reporting of performance evaluation throughout the year.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service to Team Members regarding HR initiatives and programs (field and local Team Leaders and Team Members).
  • Partner with the HR team on special projects.
  • Serve as a back-up for benefits in partnership with HRIS Analyst.

  • Bachelor’s degree, with concentration in Mathematics or Statistics, preferred; or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • Certification in Compensation (CCP), preferred.
  • Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in compensation, data analysis, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (ADP), Compensation Management Software, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams).
  • Excellent understanding of State and Federal labor laws.
  • Knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices added plus.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Along with the ability to work independently. Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • High degree of initiative; strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within a multi-state environment and 500+ staff. Ministry experiences preferred.
