This is a full-time, onsite position that is based out of our headquarters in Franklin, TN.  

 

As a Broadcast Technicain I, here are a few things that you'll be doing...

  • Perform assembly, installation, operation, test, maintenance, and repair of broadcast equipment (such as audio processors and modulation monitors) used in radio broadcasting, ensuring programs are broadcast to EMF’s standard of quality.
  • Build, modify, and repair broadcast equipment to the module level as instructed.
  • Process equipment returns, transfer equipment to proper locations and perform basic tests on equipment to determine state of operability.
  • Partner and communicate with EMF and contract engineers in Rocklin and in other cities and states to accomplish objectives and tasks.
  • Contribute written documentation of processes and procedures, adhering to EMF Documentation standards, as required and directed by supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment inventory data as needed.
  • Perform work on non-broadcast equipment (such as electrical generators, air conditioning units, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, etc.) as conditions dictate.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Here's what we're looking for in a Broadcast Techician I...

  • Associates degree or equivalent technical school. Six months or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solder and desolder electronic components without causing damage to the components or PC board.
  • Ability to use basic test equipment and safely use basic hand and power tools desirable (or a demonstrated ability to learn those skills in a timely manner).
  • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before customers/listeners or other Team Members.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and other common software (internet browsers, etc.).
  • Ability to develop a basic understanding of FCC rules and regulations over time.
