Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Culture and Purpose, the Senior Coordinator of Cultural Engagement will design and implement events, activities, and systems that strengthen team member engagement and organizational culture. The position is creative, collaborative, and active within the Ministry as it works with various departments, and all our Team Members, to ensure events are impactful, fostering a sense of belonging and community at K-LOVE Inc.
In addition, a VALUES FIT is top priority. Do our values align with yours? Mission, Beliefs & Values. If so, please read on.
This role will be at our new Franklin, TN Headquarters
Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…
- Plan internal Team Member events on three primary levels:
- Regular and recurring events like birthday celebrations and small-scale holiday festivities.
- Super special events that serve individual departments like a Marketing Summit or Technology Development Day.
- Produce major event experiences that require an event team, designed to serve all Team Members, like our Christmas Party or Celebration of Service.
- Love owning “the little things” that make a huge difference. These are the details and insights you have what a Team Member may need. We don’t know what all those are, but you do because of how you’re uniquely gifted to care for people. A gift bag of local goodies for a team member coming in from another state? Let’s do that! K-LOVE baby onesies for a Team Member welcoming a new baby? For sure! You know what people need and how to make them feel seen and cared for at work. Someone might even say it’s your superpower.
- Build initiatives to engage both HQ based, remote, and alternative hours Team Members. Our Team Members work across different time zones, operate 24-hours in certain departments, and hold in-office, hybrid, and 100% remote positions. We are a diverse group! How do we engage Team Members and ensure they have a felt experience as an active and essential part of our mission? You know the answer to this question and are excited about accomplishing that goal.
- Chair the “Culture Crew” committee and prioritize celebration and recognition in planning. This is a creative and involved group of Team Members from across the ministry that commit annually to work together to come up with events and provide volunteer support for functions.
- Work with orientation leaders to ensure food is ordered, set up, and presented well for our monthly New Hire event.
- Establish a partnership with the Live Events Department and be the bridge for Team Members to get access (and tickets!) to all the incredible external events that our Ministry puts on!
- Work with our Communications Leaders to get trained on K-Love connect, send event invites and manage guest lists, and ensure comms team stays in the know on event dates and scope. You’ll always have a busy inbox, you need to love talking to people, answering questions, and keeping them informed!
- Set up and operate the Team Member “Merch Store”, manage merchandise and work with internal teams to fulfil orders.
- Own a few nuts-and-bolts that support the culture of our ministry on a logistics level including our Culture and K-LOVE Spaces calendars, and incoming requests for internal events; you know what’s needed to put on a thoughtful event in each of our spaces, and you’re going to make sure the right departments are in on the conversation to make it the best it can be. You have to love collaborating with leaders (think Safety, Security, Facilities, Technology) and across departments to make things great.
- Effectively research, recommend, and administer various forms of engagement tools, practices, exercises, and events.
- Organize Team Member “volunteers,” to help with live events and engagement initiatives throughout the year.
- Uphold a high degree of confidentiality regarding team members, as necessary, it’s an HR role so Team Members may share sensitive information with you that may need to be relayed up to your leader.
- Consistently represent the ministry in a positive, encouraging, and professional manner to our Team Members in all forms of communication, including phone, email, conference calls and in-person.
- Use good judgement on the best way to respond to communications i.e. Loop in your leader, delegate, or redistribute the communication to where it really needs to go. Team Members come to us for all kinds of things, and we help get people where they need to go!
- Consistently evaluate engagement strategies to ensure effectiveness and use data (engagement surveys, team member feedback, observed behavior) to support making changes, introducing new ideas, and actively making things better for our Team Members.
- Maintain engagement budget, including, but not limited to, requesting budget/purchase approval, recording purchases, and researching most cost effective spend.
- Other tasks that support our people as needed.
We are looking for a very specific skill set. If you can say yes to each of these requirements, then we want to meet you!
- Recommended bachelor’s degree, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of administrative or project management experience and 3 years of event production experience at the scale described above. Other creative production experience may be considered equivalent.
- Possess confidence to bring creativity, initiative, and innovation to routine and non-routine situations; and ability to exercise judgment in the resolution of administrative problems. Demonstrates experience in negotiating conflict and difficult situations with gentleness, patience, optimism and candor. Believe the best about your counterparts, even if they present you with challenges.
- Strong event management and leadership skills with the ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information on a regular basis.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office competency (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Canva) and specialized software as determined by the ministry.
- Strong research skills and ability to convey information based on strategic alignment.
- Ability to analyze a variety of complex issues and recommend solutions.
- High-Level verbal comprehension, communication, and interpersonal skills in various situations and via various platforms in the English language.
- Critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems, and sound judgments, ethics, and sense of personal responsibility.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in all work-related relationships, including self-monitoring, self-assessing, and being sensitive to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
- Excellent/advanced experience in administrative principles and processes for providing a service-oriented environment.
- A commitment to continuing education and professional growth, displaying willingness to learn and accept greater responsibility; the desire to seek out a greater role in projects within administrative and other areas of competence; and the willingness to keep up-to-date technically, seek training outside of areas of competence, and apply new knowledge to the job.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in relation to other needs and priorities, using discernment to prioritize and integrate those needs with ongoing responsibilities.
