As a Maintenance Worker III, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional operation of our Ministry facilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities Operations, you'll lead and coordinate maintenance activities, oversee facility projects from start to finish, and mentor our Maintenance Worker I and II team members. Here's some of what you'll be doing:
- Schedule and perform repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
- Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with the program established by the Director of Facilities Operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure conformance with operational and safety standards.
- Implement approved procedures to improve operations, reduce costs, and optimize labor and material usage.
- Manage assigned projects from start to finish, including securing job bids, arranging rental equipment, scheduling contractors, and overseeing final inspections.
- Coordinate the work of maintenance staff and contractors during assigned projects or routine rations.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies needed to complete maintenance tasks.
- Communicate with Team Members to resolve maintenance issues and recommend improvements to equipment or operational conditions.
- Repair and maintain physical infrastructure, including painting, drywall, tile, carpet, concrete, asphalt, roofing, plumbing, and electrical systems, in accordance with safety, mechanical, and aesthetic standards.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective parts such as hoses, wiring, belts, and mechanical components in equipment and building systems.
- Perform minor maintenance and inspection of diesel generators, including weekly operation and monthly load testing.
- Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading or storing deliveries and supplies.
- Dismantle and rebuild modular office furniture and cubicle systems as needed.
- Open and close Help Desk tickets to document facility maintenance requests and completed work.
- Maintain current knowledge of tools, systems, and safety protocols through ongoing technical training and development.
- Work closely with external vendors supporting the Ministry’s facilities infrastructure to ensure service delivery and adherence to standards.
- Serve as primary point of contact for the janitorial service vendor and monitor the quality and timeliness of services provided.

Here's what we're looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of proven related and relevant facilities experience.
- Ability to read and understand architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform basic electrical wiring.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform basic carpentry and cabinetry repairs.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform basic plumbing repairs.
- User-level knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
- Good written & verbal communication skills.
- Experienced forklift operator.
