Reporting to the Manager of Site Development, you’ll collaborate with landlords, zoning and permitting agencies, and internal teams to ensure every site is built to the highest standards—on time, on budget, and with heart. What will you do?
- Assist Signal Expansion, Site Development, and Engineering Operations teams in moving construction projects from the planning stage through on-site construction and station licensing.
- Work directly with landlords to procure information necessary to plan the construction or modification of signals. This requires a professional understanding of the content of documents obtained and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Assist others as necessary in the build process utilizing various computer systems.
- Obtain necessary zoning clearance and building permits directly or by coordinating and overseeing the work of third-party Zoning and Permitting (Z&P) firms.
- Independently manage multiple concurrent construction projects with accountability for the scope, build timeline and cost containment of each project within the area of oversight.
- Request quotes for services, products, and labor to align with project budget. Be able to make financial and other recommendations about requested quotes as part of moving them through to PO based on a professional knowledge of those services.
- Review project plans, verifying accuracy and completeness of information. Coordinate equipment procurement and onsite construction resources.
- Perform plan-check review procedures, providing feedback on contractor bids for K-LOVE and FCC compliance.
- Perform build-readiness assessment and scheduling.
- Coordinate utilities that may need to be installed prior to build such as electrical, gas or internet.
- Understand broadcast-related FCC rules and Construction Permit conditions early in project to meet all operating conditions prior to construction.
- Independently log, assign, process, and record documents; initiate contact with contractors, engineers, and outside agencies; compile and prepare statistical reports relative to construction projects.
- Communicate with and request work from engineers (including contract engineers) in other cities and states.
- Work with leadership to spearhead initiatives that will proactively solve system problems and/or improve processes.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of engineering equipment needed for builds: Antennas, filters, coax, combiners, transmitters, and satellite dishes.
- Occasionally make trips to remote sites as required to perform site inspections and due diligence.
- Be able to lead team in special projects. Step in and lead the team as requested during times the Manager of Site Development is unavailable.
- Continue growth by gaining expertise in broadcast-related areas such as HD, permitting or standard rack equipment.
- Prepare and present materials at the annual Engineering Summit and other events.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Manager.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s Degree from college or technical school in electronics, communication or related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- SBE Certification a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional project management within the broadcast construction or telecommunication industry with direct responsibility for procurement, project plan origination and timeline administration and project lifecycle management and reporting for complex, multi-phase construction projects.
- Demonstrated successful project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Navigation)
- Experience with Project Management Software such as MS Project required.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of engineering equipment needed for builds: Antennas, filters, coax, combiners and transmitters.
