Overview

The Legal Intern will support the Legal Department by assisting attorneys with core legal tasks such as research, drafting documents, and organizing case files. This internship offers hands-on experience in legal procedures, case management, and professional skills within a ministry setting. Interns will gain exposure to compliance, litigation support, and contract review while contributing to projects that enhance organizational efficiency. The program culminates in a capstone project focused on improving legal workflows and compliance strategies.

 

This internship provides practical experience in legal operations and compliance, offering opportunities to learn professional skills and gain exposure to ministry-related legal processes. Interns will work closely with attorneys and contribute to projects that improve efficiency and organizational compliance. Consideration for future employment may be based on performance and organizational needs. The internship culminates in a capstone project where you’ll present your work and insights to our leadership teams.

 

This internship is created for 1st or 2nd year law students. Please ensure, if you apply, you are in your 1st or 2nd year, or have just completed your 2nd year of law school. 

 

Location: Franklin, TN | Duration: 10 Weeks | Full-Time, Paid


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes and case law.
  • Draft documents including memos, motions, and contracts under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with document review, discovery, and case file organization.
  • Prepare trial binders and support litigation processes.
  • Help with client communication and administrative duties.
  • Contribute to projects such as creating a work product tracker or organizing the digital filing system.
  • Complete a capstone project on topics like eliminating silos in legal workflows or developing a compliance advocacy program.

 

Here's qualifications we are seeking:

  • A current student in your first or second year (or just completed second year) of law school.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Franklin, TN for the full internship period.
  • Interest in event planning, team engagement, and organizational culture.
