Overview

The News Intern will assist the K-LOVE Newsroom team in creating compelling content for radio, digital platforms, and social media. This internship offers hands-on experience in live on-air broadcasting, audio editing, and long-form storytelling. Interns will contribute to projects such as Local News Breakaways, God Stories, and Positive People features, while learning essential skills in punctuality, problem-solving, and professional work ethic. The program culminates in a capstone project focused on improving storytelling methods and newsroom collaboration.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with Local News Breakaways and long-form content creation.
  • Update the God Stories page on K-LOVE and Air1 websites.
  • Create social media posts to promote stories and engagement.
  • Develop God Stories and Positive People stories for air, podcast, and website.
  • Support potential video projects for digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm new storytelling ideas.
  • Complete a capstone project analyzing ways to improve storytelling and newsroom processes.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a related field (Journalism, Communications, Media, Broadcasting, etc.).
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Franklin, TN for the full internship period.
  • Interest in news, storytelling, and media production.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with audio editing software and/or video production tools.
  • Familiarity with social media content creation.
  • Creative mindset and ability to develop engaging stories for multiple platforms.

Additional Information:

This internship provides practical experience in live broadcasting, audio editing, and digital storytelling. Interns will gain exposure to newsroom operations and learn how to create content that resonates with audiences while maintaining ministry values. Consideration for future employment may be based on performance and organizational needs. The internship culminates in a capstone project where you’ll present your work and insights to leadership
