The Data Asset Coordinator (DAC) is responsible for the day-to-day handling, organization, and movement of digital media assets for the Video Department and, as needed, other departments that interface with video. This role ensures media is properly ingested, organized, stored, archived, and easily retrievable, while supporting video production, post-production, and cross-departmental collaboration across the ministry.
The DAC serves as a steward of K-LOVE’s media—helping preserve both the organization’s historical legacy and its current, active assets with care, accuracy, and intention.

Media Ingest & Handling
Ingest raw and final video assets into the video server (SNS)
Review ingest forms when receiving hard drives and media cards to ensure all required information is complete
Ingest raw photo assets into SNS
Back up final photo assets into the photo platform (Widen)
Perform Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) tasks during filming sessions to safely and efficiently move footage from production into post-production
Apply a solid working knowledge of media files, including codecs, file formats, camera settings, and technical specifications to ensure proper handling and compatibility
Calculate and monitor media transfer rates, storage needs, and ingest timelines to support reliable delivery to post-production
Assist team members within Video and other departments in searching for and locating media assets
Provide troubleshooting support for ingest-related and media transfer issues
Support media traffic across cloud, hard drive, and/or server transfers for internal teams and external contractors
Awareness & Communication
Maintain awareness of upcoming video productions and coordinate closely with the Video Project Manager
Proactively identify workflow pain points within media asset management (MAM) and post-production systems and collaborate on solutions
Communicate regular updates, including progress, risks, and areas needing attention
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt, and grow as tools, workflows, and platforms evolve
Asset & System Management
Manage asset movement through established ingest, post-production, and archive workflows
Monitor storage and archive system health
Ensure metadata accuracy and adherence to tagging standards
Track server capacity, usage trends, and future growth needs
Manage the lifecycle of hard drives, SD cards, and other removable media
Ensure still and video cameras maintain current settings for proper native metadata capture
Update and maintain media ingest standard operating procedures (SOPs)
