Overview

Has God called and equipped you to serve in Ministry where the Good News of Jesus is shared with millions? If you’re passionate about building the backbone of mission-critical systems, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who thrives on designing and evolving resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure across both cloud and on-prem environments. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of modernization—driving reliability, performance, and efficiency through automation, smart design, and forward-thinking innovation.

In addition, a VALUES FIT is top priority. Do our values align with yours? Mission, Beliefs & Values. If so, please read on.

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable hybrid infrastructure across on-premises data centers and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including networking, identity, and resource organization.
  • Install, configure, and manage server hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization platforms (VMware/ESX/VCF), including lifecycle management, patching, and performance optimization.
  • Design, deploy, and operate load-balanced, highly available, and distributed systems, leveraging cloud-native and on-premise technologies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash), integrating with version control and CI/CD pipelines to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Deploy, manage, and support containerized platforms and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes), enabling scalable application hosting and modernization initiatives.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security events using enterprise monitoring and logging tools; respond to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement and maintain networking and security controls, including firewalls, access management, encryption, and vulnerability remediation across hybrid environments.
  • Develop, test, and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, ensuring defined RPO/RTO objectives are met, including backup and restoration processes across platforms (e.g., StorOne, Nimble, Pure).
  • Maintain and continuously improve technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks to support consistent and reliable operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, security, and application teams to deliver platform solutions, while mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  •

We are looking for a very specific skill set. If you can say yes to each of these requirements, then we want to meet you!

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with VMware/ESX and enterprise server environments.
  • Experience backup recovery and storage
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and system architecture.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, ability to build trust and value others; communicate effectively; and collaborate with others.
  • High level of integrity; demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance and Ministry goals.
