The Donor Advisor is responsible for qualifying and building strong, ministry‑focused relationships within K-LOVE’s Annual Giving Program of mid‑level donors and prospects. This includes initial contact and qualification, relationship cultivation, gift solicitation, follow-up and ongoing stewardship of donors, keeping those donors informed of the impact of their gifts, and helping donors fulfill their passions and interests tied to K‑LOVE’s mission. This role has an emphasis on the daily, effective outreach to and qualification of leads (primarily large volumes of existing donors) to deepen their engagement and giving, as well as providing the opportunity for portfolio development.
Here's some of what you will do...
- Work consistent with and in furtherance of the goals and priorities established by the Development Department.
- Execute a strategy, reflective of our culture and values, that further engages donors to increase their giving with a specific focus on increasing gifts ranging from $1,000 - $10,000.
- Deliver consistently strong and comprehensive fundraising results including but not limited to your assistance with closing mid-level gifts that are unrestricted, to campaigns, for pledge drive success, planned giving, and noncash.
- Ensure major and principal level donors are escalated to that program with an appropriate transition plan.
- Regular, organized, and effective qualification outreach to donors, focused on early-stage discovery and assessing readiness for deeper engagement.
- Effectively manage and engage your own portfolio as assigned.
- Ensure calls, events, stewardship contacts, and relevant information gathered in those activities are accurately recorded in the donor’s data record.
- Improve the year-over-year retention (or escalation) of mid-level donors and more fully engage them as partners.
- Meet individual activity, qualification, portfolio fundraising, and other assigned goals.
- Build teamwork and strong working relationships with the mid-level fundraisers and work cooperatively and collaboratively with your manager and other members of the department and ministry; accept guidance and instruction well.
- Be responsive to stakeholders of the Annual Giving (mid-level) fundraising program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Here's some experience and skills we are seeking...
- Bachelor’s degree, or combination of education and training with relevant experience.
- Fundraising certification a plus.
- Minimum three years of donor development and fundraising experience including regular personal contacts to qualify donors (or transferable, sales or sales development, experience).
- High energy professional with a track record of building donor/customer relationships and closing gifts/sales.
- Demonstrated ability to listen to and understand the goals, interests, and passions of donors.
- Effective time and detail management, able to manage and complete several projects concurrently.
- Ability to work strategically, set priorities, define goals and outcomes, detail tactics, and achieve results.
- An individual who is energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- A commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability both internally and externally in conversations with donors and prospects, in marketing, and reporting.
